Our student housing in Neuenheim, at Bismarckplatz, and in Weststadt is just a 3- to 15-minute walk from the Alpha Aktiv Language Institute.
This way, you can easily walk to class without having to take the bus or train. Our centrally located buildings are in Neuenheim, at Bismarckplatz, and in Weststadt. Their central location also puts you within easy walking distance of supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, shopping, and Heidelberg’s historic Old Town.
All rooms are fully furnished and include:

Shared kitchens and bathrooms provide ideal opportunities to quickly make new friends and foster interaction with other international participants.

Student dormitory in Heidelberg-Ziegelhausen
If you prefer a quiet setting and enjoy living surrounded by nature, our accommodation in Heidelberg-Ziegelhausen is the ideal choice.
The dorm is located in a quiet neighborhood in Heidelberg. The bus stop is right in front of the building and takes you conveniently to the Alpha Aktiv Language Institute in about 15 minutes. There are also good connections to the S-Bahn and parking available.

Staying with a Host Family
Do you want to not only get to know Germany but also actively experience everyday life there? Then staying with a host family is the ideal choice.
Our carefully selected host families warmly welcome international participants and give you an authentic glimpse into German life and culture.
Accommodations include half-board with breakfast and dinner. Most host families live about 25 to 30 minutes away from the school by public transportation. Many families speak English or other languages in addition to German and will help you settle into your new surroundings. Daily interaction with your host family will help you improve your German skills quickly and naturally.
Important Information About Your Accommodations
To ensure that your trip and stay go smoothly, please note the following:
- Check-in: Sunday before the course begins, starting at 3:00 p.m.
- Check-out: Friday after the course ends by 10:00 a.m.
- You’ll receive the exact address of your accommodation well in advance of your arrival, along with all the important information about check-in.
- All rooms are fully furnished and have free Wi-Fi.
- Alpha Aktiv will provide bed linens upon request. Please bring your own towels.
- Shared kitchens are available to all residents.
- Laundry facilities are available upon request at our accommodations.
- Our accommodations are cleaned regularly and are located in safe neighborhoods.
- Throughout your stay, our team will be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns.
Early Check-in or Late Check-out:
Depending on availability and for an additional fee, early check-in or late check-out may be possible. Please contact us well in advance of your arrival. We ask all residents to treat their accommodations with care and to be considerate of their roommates. Together, we can create a pleasant and respectful living environment.
