Summer Youth Course: Learn German and Experience Heidelberg
In the morning, you'll learn German; in the afternoon, you'll explore Heidelberg. Whether you're just starting out or want to improve your German, you'll find the right program for you here.
Classes are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., for a total of 20 class periods per week. You won’t be in a summer-only class, but will study alongside our year-round students. This approach has proven very successful: the more experienced students will guide you, help you with German, and show you how to find your way around Heidelberg. This way, you’ll settle in faster than if everyone were new at the same time.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, there are recreational activities from about 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The exact times depend on the schedule.

Your temporary home with one of our host families
During your stay, you’ll live with one of our host families. We’ve been working with all of them for years and know them personally. You’ll have breakfast and dinner with the family every day. This is the best opportunity to practice your German and get a feel for what everyday life in Germany is really like.
